Built around the way people actually live here.
Driftholm began with a simple observation: most rental agencies in Phuket serve landlords first. We set out to change that.
Back to HomeA rental agency that works for the tenant
Driftholm was founded in Phuket Town by a small group of people who had each, at some point, navigated the island's rental market as outsiders. The experience — confusing lease terms, properties that looked different from their photos, coordinators who disappeared after the deal — shaped a clear sense of what this work should look like when done well.
We take on a selective number of clients so that each person receives genuine attention. Our search process begins with a conversation, not a property list. We want to understand how you live before we suggest where you might live.
Our office is in the older part of Phuket Town — the kind of neighbourhood we most often recommend to clients who want to experience the island rather than just visit it.

Our mission
To make the process of renting in Phuket feel calm rather than complicated. We believe that finding a home — whether for two weeks or two years — should involve a person who knows the place well, communicates plainly, and has no interest in rushing you toward a decision that isn't right for you.

How we maintain quality
These aren't policies on a wall. They're habits we've built into how we work.
Physical Property Checks
Every property presented to a client has been visited in person by a Driftholm team member. We check water pressure, electrical condition, air conditioning units, and neighbourhood noise levels.
Lease Document Review
We review lease documents before our clients sign them, flagging unusual clauses and explaining standard Thai rental terms in plain English.
Data Handling
Client information — including contact details, financial situation, and lease documents — is handled with care and never shared with third parties outside of what's required to complete a search.
Transparent Communication
We respond within one working day to all client messages. We confirm arrangements in writing and don't rely on verbal agreements for anything important.
Conflict of Interest Policy
We do not accept fees from landlords for referrals. Our income comes from clients, which means our recommendations are made in the client's interest — not the landlord's.
Post-Move Follow-Up
We check in with new tenants two weeks after move-in to see how the property is holding up and whether any issues have emerged that the landlord should address.
Renting in Phuket — what it takes to do it well
Phuket's rental market spans a wide range — from modest studio apartments in the old town to spacious villas in quieter upland areas. For someone arriving without local contacts or prior experience, that breadth can feel disorienting rather than liberating. The island has no shortage of listings, but sorting through them requires a working knowledge of which neighbourhoods suit which kinds of tenant, which landlords maintain their properties, and which lease terms are standard versus which require negotiation.
Driftholm's work is about applying that knowledge practically. Our team has built relationships with owners across the island over years — relationships founded on showing up to viewings, asking honest questions, and following through on what we say we'll do. That track record shapes the quality of properties we're able to present and the speed with which we can arrange access.
For tenants with specific requirements — particular districts, proximity to schools, pet-friendly arrangements, flexible lease start dates — this kind of embedded local presence makes a meaningful difference. We work best when we understand the full picture of what you need, not just the first thing you mention.
